“New Approaches to Studying the Legacy of the Jadids and Behbudi”

Today, January 21, an international conference titled “New Approaches to Studying the Legacy of the Jadids and Behbudi” was held at the Palace of Trade Unions, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Mahmudkhuja Behbudi's birth. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan, the Museum of Victims of Repression under the Cabinet of Ministers, the newspaper “Jadid,” the National Media Association of Uzbekistan, and the Federation of Trade Unions. The main goal of the event was to study the legacy of the Jadids and to develop research in the field of mass communications. Special attention was given to the historical significance of the venue where the conference was held. It was at this very place in 1914 that Behbudi’s drama “Padarkush” (“Parricide”) was staged. His ideas of freedom, progress, and national pride continue to inspire society and serve as an example for future generations.
